Staying Rooted - Muladhara - Chakra 1

The Chakras are a beautiful system. When in harmony, YOU are in harmony. Let's take a look at the "base"ic Chakra, the Root Chakra, known in Sanskrit as "Muladhara." Muladhara is a combination word of "Mula," meaning "root," and "adhara," meaning "Base/Support." It's colors are that of red, black, and white, and the root chakra is of the Earth Element. It's location is at the base of the spine, in the area between the genitals and the legs, so therefore some may call it in good fun, "The Gooch" Chakra!"

Solar Plexus Power

The Sanskit name for the Solar Plexus is "Manipura," and it's element is Fire!   The color primarily associated with the Solar Plexus, is Yellow, and it's location is said to be in the naval region of our human vessels. This Chakra leads through, Transformation, Power, and the Metabolism, and is our POWER CHAKRA. It is symbolized through  air elements and airborne entities, such as birds and airplanes, items which relate to intellect (books, words), and the sun.

As Gemstones can be a helpful tool when working on the Chakras, you may find the following useful in Chakra work for this Yellow Bellied Chakra: Yellow Jasper, Yellow Topaz, Tiger's Eye, Mookaite, Amber, Pyrite, Sunstone,  and Citrine.

THE POWER CENTER: Manipura is our very own intellectual foundation; Ego, Vitality, willpower, stamina, regular power, abilities, and how we affect the environment are directly struck by it's impact.

*Manipura activates the fire element, digesting energy and preparing it for initiating action.  You have to periodically discipline your desires for the sake of your health and well being. Work proactively to achieve greater discipline and self control. What you need to increase the fire in your body is will power. What you need to get movie is exercise. You cant wait for the energy to build to take action; you must will yourself into action, exercising self control.

The Solar Plexus brings to light that we all need some degree of self love, but self respect we have to earn.

*When you place anger, doubt or self regret as a sacrificial offering to the Solar Flame, these feelings are transferred from their gross vibration and purified  into their higher spiritual vibrations. The digestive fire in the psyche transforms and metabolizes psychological and emotional experiences, removing the burden of feeling guilty or ashamed about past choices. Whenever you are mad, angry, irritated, upset or frustrated, there is a surge of fiery energy in our 3rd Chakra. It is a negative, destructive fire. This energy can be transmitted into a positive polarity by using the sacrificial fire of your spiritual will.  The inability to express honest anger will manifest in the unconscious in unhealthy ways. Inexpressed anger is in your energy field and very evident to others.

*Those who go on to heal themselves from the wounds of abuse and lead healthy, successful lives do so by finding the source of strength within themselves that is stronger than the wounds inflicted on them.

*As you srengthen this Chakra, the fear of failure abates, replaced by fear of not living up to your highest potential.

*Having a goal to aspire to strengthens you; nothing builds self esteem quicker than success, so build realistic benchmarks.

*Getting direct sunlight, sitting in front of a fire, and meditating with flame empower this Chakra.

*Emotions are fluid; we can change our minds to fit the situation. Emotions can be released; we can unhook feelings from thoughts and bring ourselves back into balance.

*Work on this center when experiencing energy issues.

*Removing blame helps you reclaim your direct experience of the negative energy. "I am mad at what he/she did/didnt do, turns to "I am mad." The latter allows the other person to hold all the power to cause you to feel this way. You have given away your power, and to reclaim positive energy, you need to remove the label you have for it's cause. Now you have claimed responsibility for the experience of the energy.
